Shortcut Details

New Chat — Cmd+Shift+O / Ctrl+Shift+O

Opens a new blank chat immediately, regardless of which page or panel you are currently viewing. This is the fastest way to start a fresh conversation without reaching for the mouse — no need to click the sidebar pencil icon. This shortcut works from anywhere in ZeroTwo, including the studio pages, files library, and agents page.

Submit Message — Enter

Sends the message currently typed in the prompt bar. This is the default send behavior — no need to click the send arrow.

New Line — Shift+Enter

Inserts a line break in your message without sending it. Use this when you want to write multi-paragraph prompts, include formatted sections, or structure your input across multiple lines before sending.
Example: Writing a structured prompt with Shift+Enter

"Please rewrite the following paragraph:
[Shift+Enter]
[your paragraph here]
[Shift+Enter]
Make it more concise and direct. Keep the tone professional."
Well-formatted multi-line prompts frequently produce better results than single run-on sentences, especially for tasks with multiple requirements.

Stop Generation — Escape

Halts the AI’s response mid-stream. Useful when:
  • The response is clearly going in the wrong direction
  • You want to rephrase and try again
  • A long response is taking too long and you have already seen what you need
  • You realize you forgot to include a key constraint in your prompt
After stopping, you can edit your message and resend, or send a follow-up to redirect the response.

Focus Prompt Bar — /

When the prompt bar is not focused — for example, after scrolling through a long response — pressing / moves your cursor directly to the text input so you can start typing your next message without clicking.
The / shortcut only works when no other interactive element is focused. If you are in a canvas editor, a settings panel, or another input field, / will type the character normally rather than focusing the prompt bar.

Open Settings — Gear Icon

Settings is accessed via the gear icon at the bottom of the left sidebar, near your profile avatar. There is no keyboard shortcut for Settings in the current version of ZeroTwo.

Canvas Editor Shortcuts

When Canvas Mode is active and the canvas editor is focused, standard text editing shortcuts apply within the editor:
ActionMacWindows / Linux
BoldCmd + BCtrl + B
ItalicCmd + ICtrl + I
UnderlineCmd + UCtrl + U
UndoCmd + ZCtrl + Z
RedoCmd + Shift + ZCtrl + Y
Select allCmd + ACtrl + A
CopyCmd + CCtrl + C
PasteCmd + VCtrl + V
CutCmd + XCtrl + X
Some ZeroTwo chat shortcuts (such as / to focus the prompt bar) may not work while the canvas editor is focused, because keystrokes are captured by the editor first. Click back in the main chat area to restore chat-level shortcuts.

Mobile

On mobile devices, keyboard shortcuts are not applicable. Use the touch interface instead:
  • Tap the pencil icon at the top of the sidebar to start a new chat
  • Tap the send arrow to submit your message
  • Use the on-screen keyboard’s return key to submit (exact behavior varies by keyboard app and platform)
  • Tool pills, the model selector, and the file attach icon are all available as touch targets in the prompt bar

Tips for Keyboard-Driven Workflows

Fastest new chat flow: Cmd+Shift+O to open a new chat, then / to focus the prompt bar. These two shortcuts together let you go from anywhere in ZeroTwo to actively typing a new message entirely from the keyboard.
Better prompts with Shift+Enter: Use Shift+Enter liberally when writing prompts with multiple sections, constraints, or examples. A well-structured multi-paragraph prompt consistently outperforms a dense single-line one.
Stop and redirect early: If a response is going in the wrong direction, hit Escape as soon as you notice rather than waiting for it to finish. Rephrase and resend — you save time and, on plans with premium quotas, tokens too.
Keyboard shortcuts are subject to change as new features are added to ZeroTwo. This page reflects the current shortcut set.
