Deep Research is available on all ZeroTwo plans, but the number of sessions per day varies by plan. This page covers everything you need to know about quotas, session behavior, timing, and source coverage.

Plan limits

PlanDeep Research allowance
Free1 per day (resets midnight UTC)
ProHigher daily limit
Pro 2xHigher daily limit
Plus UltraHighest limit
BusinessTeam limits (per seat) — contact sales for details
Daily limits reset at midnight UTC. If you have used your daily allowance, check the time until reset in Settings → Usage, or upgrade your plan at Settings → Subscription.
Because Deep Research sessions are more resource-intensive than standard searches, it is worth spending an extra minute writing a specific, well-scoped prompt. A focused prompt produces a better report — and means you are less likely to need a second session to fill in gaps.

Session constraints

One active session at a time

Only one Deep Research session can run at a time per account. If you attempt to start a new session while one is already in progress, ZeroTwo will prompt you to confirm whether to cancel the current session.
  • Canceling an in-progress session consumes the research credit — the partial session counts toward your daily limit even if no report was delivered
  • To avoid wasting credits, let the current session finish before starting a new one, or wait until you are ready to fully commit to the new topic

Session isolation

Each Deep Research session is independent:
  • A session is tied to the specific chat thread where it was started
  • You cannot merge findings from two separate sessions automatically — but you can reference or paste content from one report into a follow-up chat

Time to complete

Deep Research typically takes 2–10 minutes to deliver a completed report. The actual time depends on several factors:
FactorEffect on duration
Number of research areas in the planMore topics = longer research
Depth of each topicMore subtopics and sub-questions = longer
Amount of source material availableDense topics with many sources take longer to synthesize
Server load during peak usageMay add a small amount of additional latency
You will see a live progress indicator in the chat showing what ZeroTwo is currently doing — searching, reading a specific URL, or synthesizing. This gives you a real-time sense of how far along the session is.

What affects source coverage

Deep Research is powered by Firecrawl, which crawls web content more comprehensively than a standard search engine query. For each topic in the research plan, Firecrawl:
  • Retrieves and fully reads relevant pages (not just previews or snippets)
  • Follows links within relevant pages to discover additional sources
  • Processes multiple source types: articles, research papers, reports, PDFs, company pages
What Firecrawl can and cannot access:
  • Publicly accessible web pages: yes
  • Paywalled content or pages requiring a login: no
  • Very recently published pages not yet indexed: may be missed
  • Pages that block web crawlers via robots.txt: no
Topic maturity also matters — well-documented topics (established technologies, major companies, widely covered events) have richer source material than niche or emerging subjects.

Running in the background

Deep Research runs server-side — closing the tab or navigating away does not stop it.
  • If you close the tab mid-research, the session continues on ZeroTwo’s servers
  • Return to the same chat thread to find the completed report when it finishes
  • If your browser session expired while research was running, log back in and navigate to the chat thread — the report will be waiting
If the session was interrupted before delivering a report (due to a server error or explicit cancellation), the research credit is still consumed. Start a new session to retry.

No pausing mid-run

Currently, active research cannot be paused once it has started. Use the plan review step to fully scope and adjust your research before approving — that is the last checkpoint before the automated crawl begins. If you realize mid-run that the plan was wrong:
  • You can let it complete and then use follow-up prompts to reshape the report
  • Or cancel the session and start fresh with a better-scoped prompt (this uses an additional credit)

Checking your usage

To see how many Deep Research sessions you have used today:
  1. Go to Settings → Usage
  2. The Usage dashboard shows current consumption across all tool types, including Deep Research
  3. It also shows when your daily limit resets

Upgrading for more sessions

If you regularly hit the Deep Research limit on your current plan, upgrading gives you more sessions per day along with all other plan benefits. Compare plans at zerotwo.ai/pricing or from Settings → Subscription.
